Best black and OLED Obsidian themes for true dark mode note-taking

A true OLED or AMOLED Obsidian theme uses near-black or pure-black surfaces so pixels can switch off on compatible displays. This can look striking on phones, tablets, and OLED laptops, especially in dark rooms.

But black alone does not make a theme good. The theme still needs readable body text, clear active states, visible borders, and careful accent colors. A pure black background with dim grey text can be harder to read than a softer dark surface.
